LaHave, Nova Scotia

“Ocean, n. A body of water occupying about two-thirds of a world made for man — who has no gills.” –  Ambrose Bierce,The Unabridged Devil’s Dictionary

“My personal experience growing up in Nova Scotia has always had a constant element of ocean involved. The beach is only 15 minutes away, our sailboat is moored just outside my home, and the cool breeze of the coastline is a constant reminder that I live on the edge of Canada.

After living here for 12 years, being near the ocean had become a commonality between everyone here, and we often forget how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of Canada and the world. We are surrounded by an amazing coastline, and get to experience such a pure part of Canada’s history almost every day.”

The wind shares a blanket,
For the crystal sea below,
The oceans provides a soft bed,
For the ones who call it home.
